Another hit of inflation! Tomato prices skyrocketed, know what is the rate at your place


With the onset of monsoon, the common people have once again been hit by inflation. For the last few days, the prices of vegetables are increasing once again. The maximum increase was seen in the price of tomato. Tomato, which was sold for Rs 20 a kg a month ago, is being sold at five times the price. In many states including the country’s capital Delhi-NCR, UP, tomatoes are now being sold for Rs 100 to 120 per kg.

Apart from tomato, the prices of many vegetables including okra, capsicum, cabbage have increased. Due to the expensive vegetables, the businessmen are getting very upset because their goods are being sold less. Tomatoes have spoiled the taste of the kitchen since last week. Due to the increased price, people are buying less. 

Tomato prices are skyrocketing in the capital Delhi. Due to the increased prices, the sellers of tomatoes seem upset. The price of tomato has reached 80 to 100 rupees in vegetable markets. In such a situation, tomatoes are disappearing from people’s kitchens.

The wholesalers who came to the Okhla vegetable market tell that we are getting higher prices of tomatoes, due to which we have to pay expensive to the vendors. There are two types of tomatoes in the market which are being sold from Rs 80 to Rs 100.

In Uttar Pradesh too, these days the prices of tomatoes have skyrocketed. These days tomato is being sold in the mandis of UP at Rs 1100 to Rs 4000 per quintal. The effect of the rise in tomato prices has also been seen in Kanpur. These days tomatoes are being sold here at Rs 100 per kg. At the same time, tomatoes are available at Rs 50 to 70 per kg in Bihar and Jharkhand. Tomatoes are being sold for Rs 100 per kg in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. Apart from this, tomatoes are available for Rs 80 to 100 per kg in cities like Indore-Bhopal of Madhya Pradesh.
