Azhar Iqubal is who?

Azhar Iqubal left the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi (IIT) without graduating. He is most known for being the CEO and co-founder of Inshorts, India’s most popular English news app. Along with his IIT dropout classmates Anunay Arunav and Deepit Purkayastha, Azhar launched the “News in Shorts” Facebook page in 2013. The goal of the app was to provide brief news summaries that were no more than 60 words.

They debuted the Inshorts app, which was accessible on cellphones, the following year. Then, in 2015, Inshorts made iPhones more accessible. Inshorts, a Noida-based business, is reportedly valued at Rs 3700 crore, according to Fintrackr.

Azhar started a new business in 2019 called Public, a location-based social network that regularly posts significant events and distributes information. Its main goal is to provide the reader a factual experience. Since then, Public has expanded to become the biggest location-based social network in India, with over 50 million active members and more than 1 million videos uploaded each month.

On Instagram, Azhar also shared his enthusiasm for the travel and some of his thoughts. “Ten years ago, as I was entering my 20s, I took a leap of faith and left IIT Delhi to launch the news app Inshorts,” he wrote. The last ten years have been an exhilarating roller coaster. Those nonstop nights led to success in the social media sector. One decade later, as I enter my 30s, we are one of the industry’s biggest players, with 1.2 crore Indians utilizing our applications on a daily basis.

On Shark Tank India Season 3, he said, “I want to educate all the young people of India that where you come from and whether or not you have a degree matters not. It counts whether you are focused, disciplined, and hungry. And if you possess these qualities, I’m here to help you realize your business goal.

Peyush Bansal, Amit Jain, Aman Gupta, Anupam Mittal, Namita Thapar, Vineeta Singh, Deepinder Goyal, and Ritesh Agarwal will all appear in the film with Azhar.
